The history of the Steamboat Flyfisher is one of dedicated anglers wanting to provide quality information and service to its customers. It starts in 1992 in Hahn's Peak Colorado as the Steamboat Lake Fishing Company. Started by the late Carroll White, an IBM executive, and Fenwick Rod Company casting instructor from Boulder, the shop was run as a seasonal business serving anglers at Steamboat Lake and north Routt County. With a limited selection of flies and terminal tackle, the shop did enough business to open again the following year with a new guide service and a new partner, Sasha Wood.
